What is a Radiologic Technologist? Better known as a X-Ray Technician, you will be working with physicians to create diagnostic images for their patients.
Part of your duties will be prepping and explaining the procedures to
the patients before they get an x-ray, CT or MRI Scan. Part of your job will be putting your patients mind at ease, as many times they will be apprehensive about what you will be doing.
Having the ability to keep people calm and relaxed is a big part of your job. Having a good sense of humor and the ability to put a smile on your patients face is a priceless gift if you can do it.
You will use special machines, like x-ray machines, to take pictures of patient’s anatomy. You will get patients ready for the exam, position them carefully, and prevent both the patient and yourself from overexposure to radiation.
